The National Institute of Culture and History, through the Institute of Creative Arts and the Film and Media Arts Unit, takes this opportunity to welcome Ms. Lynn Whitfield to Belize for her starring role in the 12th Annual Belize International Film Festival.

In welcoming this Emmy Award Winning Actress we would like to invite the Media to join us at the Radisson on Wednesday afternoon for a brief Question and Answer session with Ms. Whitfield.  Winner of four (4) NAACP Image Awards, three (3) Black Reel Awards, among other notable awards and nominations, Ms. Whitfield is a Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduate from the prestigious Howard University.

Well known for her acting and Producing, she is currently cast in a main role in the Oprah Winfrey Network original scripted drama series “Greenleaf”.  Ms. Whitfield plays the leading role of Lady Mae Greenleaf, the imperious Minister’s wife and power and money hungry matriarch of the family.  The series also stars Keith David, Merle Dandridge, Kim Hawthorne and Oprah Winfrey.
Ms. Whitfield is looking forward to meeting the Belizean Media and learning more about Belize’s diverse culture and our flora and fauna, while sharing with those interested in developing the Film Industry of Belize. We look forward to giving the print, radio and television media a chance to meet and interact with Ms. Whitfield at the Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina in The Baymen Tavern at 2:30 PM on Wednesday November 8, 2017.
